In Memoriam |
In memory of Edward Neale, who sadly passed away on January 15, 2024. Edward attended AES from 1988 to 1997.
Our heartfelt sympathies go out to Edward's family and friends during this difficult time.
Tribute from his brother Brook Neale:
Edward Neale passed away suddenly on 15th of January, following a viral fever.
For those that knew him some solace comes with thoughts of what was important to him in life. Little was more so than AES.
He considered his time at there, from ECEC in 1988 until 7th grade in 1997, among the happiest of his life. After leaving India he went to the UK for high school and university, after which worked briefly in finance in London before becoming an entrepreneur and consultant based in Italy and Brazil, where he passed away.
AES never left him, and he never left it. He was, at the time of his death, planning trips back to Delhi and speaking with his old school friends about having a reunion there.
A childhood at AES can bestow a feeling of rootlessness and yearning for belonging on many of us. Edward was no exception. Ultimately, thankfully, he found a peace of sorts: partly in Brazil, where he had recently purchased a spectacular mountaintop property in Sao Paulo state, partly in the Chianti region of Italy, where he had lived before the pandemic, and partly among friends all over the world, who continue to love him dearly.
Rest in peace, my brother. You were not meant to leave us so soon, and we are all the poorer for it.
